Nothing says I love you more than fish. One of The Salmon Project’s mission is to spread the love of salmon beyond Valentine’s Day.
“One of our brands and one of the key ideas that we work with and that people really recognize about the salmon project is the concept of salmon love.”
Erin Harrington is the brains behind The Salmon Project and has been collaborating with Homer’s dynamic duo- The Salmon Sisters. With the help of their popular line of tee shirts and sweatshirts, and these three ladies passion for Alaska’s fisheries; working together they fuel the fish love.
“Emma was able to co design with us another great item which is a T-shirt, that is called the life blood T-shirt, and it really speaks to how salmon are the lifeblood of Alaska, and that is something we have heard from people over and over and over again.”
Emma and Claire Laukitis are The Salmon Sisters- Along with their own seaworthy designs; they have collected swag from artisans around the state.
“On our purchase page there will be two different products, his and hers. -The hoodies are geared for giving to your lady love, and then we made a neat Masculine Lifeblood salmon tee that women can purchase for their fisherman or salmon enthusiast. They come in a cute package with different salmon soap, salmon rub, and things that Erin helped put together from people who made them in Kodiak and Anchorage. And we are proud to be sending them out to communities; it will be fun to see where they go.”
Harrington continues finding all different way to connect people to salmon.
“With salmon being really rooted in our hearts and in our relationships with the people in our lives, and part of how we share time with each other, and share food with each other, it really is all about love.
